Hunugal Pokuna: Limestone Pond In Kalthota

Description

"Hunugal Pokuna" is a tourist attraction located in the Kaltota Rajatenna area in Balangoda. "Hunugal Pokuna" in Balangoda Rajawaka reserve. This is a beautiful pond located in a valuable ecosystem full of natural vegetation. The water is very clean. Villagers in the area say it was discovered around 2001.

Today it is a no-go zone for tourists. Bathing in this place is said to have caused severe damage. However, it is stated that photo shoots are allowed.

Route: After about 25-30 km along the Kaltota road, you will find the village of Tanjanthenna. From there you will come across the Tanjanthenna Temple. After passing it for about 3 km, turn left near the limestone factory and after about 800 meters you will come across a small gravel road. As you walk 1.5 km through the forest you will find a footprint. You can reach this place by walking a short distance from there.
