Ella Odyssey Train Time

Traveling all the way from Colombo Fort to Badulla
  • Train Number 1041: The Colombo Fort to Badulla train departs every Thursday at 5.30 AM from Colombo Fort and arrives in Badulla at 3.53 PM on the same day.
  • Train Number 1041: The Colombo Fort to Badulla train operates every Saturday, departing at 5.30 AM from Colombo Fort and reaching Badulla at 3.53 PM on the same day.
Traveling all the way from Badulla to Colombo Fort
  • Train Number 1042: The from Badulla to Colombo Fort train departs every Friday at 9.50 AM from Colombo Fort and arrives in Badulla at 7.20 PM on the same day.
  • Train Number 1042: The from Badulla to Colombo Fort train operates every Sunday, departing at 9.50 AM from Colombo Fort and reaching Badulla at 7.20 PM on the same day.

Ella Odyssey Train Booking

The Sri Lanka Railway Department allows seat reservations for the Ella Odyssey and all other express trains exactly 30 days prior to the travel date. For instance, if you plan to travel on June 14th, you can reserve your ticket starting from May 13th, 10 AM, until your travel date. However, due to high demand, it is recommended to book seats for the Ella Odyssey train well in advance.

Please note that the 30-day reservation period is subject to change without prior notice. If you are a tourist, it is advisable to check with your travel agency in Sri Lanka for the most up-to-date information.

How to Book Ella Odyssey Train



There are three ways to book your tickets for the Ella Odyssey Train:
  1. Directly from the following railway stations: You can visit main railway stations such as Colombo Fort, Maradana, Gampaha, Veyangoda, Kandy, Nawalapitiya, Ella, Nanu Oya, Hatton, Diyathalawa, and others. Ticket reservations open 30 days prior to the travel date from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM.

  2. Mobitel M Ticketing Service: This service is available 24 hours a day. If you are using a Mobitel mobile phone, you can dial the 365 hotline to book your Ella Odyssey train tickets. Please ensure that you have sufficient credits in your mobile phone account to pay for the ticket price.

  3. Online Booking: The Sri Lanka Railway Department offers online booking for the Ella Odyssey Train. You can access their website to make your reservation.

Ella Odyssey Train Ticket Price

The Ella Odyssey train offers the following ticket prices:
  • First Class (Air Conditioned): 5,000 LKR per person (One way)
  • Second Class: 4,000 LKR per person (One way)
  • Third Class: 3,000 LKR per person (One way)
