Description

St. Clair's Thawalanden Falls is a great place to beautify Nuwara Eliya. Located in Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya, it is a well-known tourist destination in Sri Lanka that attracts a large number of tourists every year. This waterfall is one of the six waterfalls affected by the Upper Kotmale Hydro Power Project.

The Great Waterfall has two "Great Falls" (260 feet) high and two "Small Falls" (160 feet). Sri Little Niagara Falls is one of the deadliest waterfalls here.

Located in: Close to the main road from Avissawella to Nuwara Eliya, St.Clair's Falls can be seen on the main road from the railway line to Talawakel.

Devon Falls

It is located 6 km from Talawakale. The waterfall was named after Devon, a pioneer English coffee planter. This Devon Falls, also known as the "Veil of the Valley". Devon Falls is 97 meters (318 feet) high and is the 19th highest point in Sri Lanka. It has an altitude of 1,140 meters (3,740 feet) above sea level. This falls is created by a tributary of the Kotmale Oya, a tributary of the Mahaweli River.
