Description About Rajanawa Ella

Rajanawa Falls and the bathing spot are now very popular among tourists. Legend has it that King Walagamba used to bathe in a waterfall. Therefore, this waterfall has been called Rajanewa Falls in the early days. Later Rajanewa Falls became Rajana Falls.

Rajnewa Falls, which is about 10 meters high, falls into a beautiful rocky outcrop with a breathtaking view. It is also possible to travel to the upper part of Rajanewa Falls. From the area to the right of the waterfall, there was a spectacular view of the trees rising with the help of rocks. Even a waterfall has become known among us as a great place to bathe.

Route : On the road from Ratnapura town to Balangoda towards Thiruvanaketiya junction towards Kalawana. After traveling less than a kilometer along the footpath near the Rajanewa Bridge, you will find the Rajanewa Falls again after about 500 meters. It is said that Rajanewa Falls, which bears some resemblance to the Belihuloya Pahanthudawa Falls, got its name from a waterfall where King Walagamba bathed.
