Bomburuella Waterfall

Bomburuella Waterfall is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. This is also known as "Perawalla Falls". Bomburuella Waterfall is 50 meters high. It is made up of a collection of 10 small waterfalls. The origin of the waterfall is a lake in the central highlands of Sri Lanka.

Bomburuella Waterfall is an amazing waterfall located in Perawella which is considered as the border of Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts. The best way to reach Bomburuella Waterfall is to take the Welimada Pusselawa road, turn off at Ambagasdova Junction and take the Pewella Bus Route. Above Bomburuella Waterfall there are eight waterfalls formed by this stream of water, known as the Upper Bomburuella Falls.

The water of Boburu Falls is used for cultivation in those areas and is also used to generate electricity.

You have to walk a short distance from the stopping point to reach the falls. It is not a difficult journey. The water that flows through the stream flows like a small stream from the soil of the road and the crops on both sides of the road grow very prosperously. Often found in the potato plantations. The locals who work on the estates make it easy for you to find your way to the falls.

Here we meet a great guide who is a lovely wonderful dog. He joins us at the beginning of the journey. He guides us to the top of the Bomburuella Waterfall, showing us the right way. The reason he is the right guide is that he takes us on the right path from the beginning of the journey to the destination.

Due to its location between 1500 and 2000 meters above sea level, this area is always cooler. Also, the coolness of the water that falls from the Bomburuella Waterfall makes the whole environment very cool.

As you pass through the plantations, you will come across a jungle with a lot of tall trees and vines. There is a small hill. From this place you can see the upper part of the Bomburuella Waterfall and from there you can walk up to the Bomburuella Waterfall by looking at the small parts of the Bomburuella Waterfall.

This is a very beautiful place and has become a very popular place among many photographers. Being able to walk to the top of the waterfall makes it possible to experience the beauty of the waterfall well. Sri Lankans who once visited the waterfall do not think twice to visit it again.
