Maragala Kanda

Maragala Kanda is a very hot city. Maragala Kanda, which is dragged behind the orphanage by the mist, is a place that challenges that dryness. The water supply to Monaragala town as well as Galabada Arawa and Obbegoda villages is provided by a reservoir built across the waterways and its natural springs.

Route: When you go along the Pola Road to the south near the Monaragala Clock Tower you will find the road leading to the Geelong Estate. 8m You can reach the top of the hill by following a difficult route in a vehicle and walking a short distance. This hill can also be reached by passing near Weliyaya Junior School which is 4 km away from Moneragala. Maragala Kanda can also be reached from Galabada Arawa area and Obbegoda area.

The southern slope of the mountain is very cold and infested with leeches. Although Monaragala is an extremely dry region, many of these features can be found around Maragala Kanda, which amazes even environmental. Many of the plants found in the Maragala Kanda Sinharaja forest can be seen.
