Nalagana Ella Falls

Description

Nalagana Ella Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls fed by the Ritigala Oya, falls at a height of 40 meters. Nalagana Ella Falls is located in the Kegalle District and can be reached by a tourist coming from Kandy to Dedugala on the Dolosbage Road in Kandy by accessing the Kalupahana Small Hydro Power Plant near the 7th km post on the Pellampitiya Bulathkohupitiya Road.

Route:If coming from Colombo --> Ruwanwella --> Dedugala --> Ihala Pellampitiya --> Bulathkohupitiya Road --> Nalagana Ella Falls

The access road to the hydropower plant is a bit dilapidated and can be easily accessed by tall vehicles. From there you have to walk about 300 meters along the footpath towards the waterfall and you can see a danger notice at the entrance.

Special remark: Safety is very important as the water level of the falls changes frequently.

It is the duty of all of us to protect this ecosystem, which is a highly sensitive ecosystem. So do not pollute this beauty with polythene, plastic, beer cans, bottles.
