Ancient Technology Museum & Wax Museum is the second largest museum in the Polonnaruwa District of the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. This is also known as the Museum of Ancient Technology. It has three floors and is second only to the Colombo National Museum. This museum of ancient technology is built on a land of about two acres.
Its earliest history goes back to 1877, when William Gregory became the former governor.
Information on 23 ancient technology industries in the country has been added to the Museum of Ancient Technology. Stone Age tools, agriculture, irrigation, metals, pottery, textiles etc. are also found there.
The specialty of this place is that it was established according to the concept of Madame Tussauds Museum which is made of wax figures of famous people of the world. The wax figure is part of the museum. It is a special feature that the image of the Heads of State who came to this country after the independence of this country has been created there.
These refurbished museums are of international standard. This museum is an innovation center with images of post-independence heads of state. It has a number of features, including a ruined museum and an auditorium.
