Sorabora Wewa is a beautiful backdrop that can amaze nature lovers. This is another large reservoir located in the Mahiyanganaya District of Uva Province. Located about half an hour away from Mahiyanganaya town. This is also known as "Sea of Bintenna" , "Sorabora Wewa". It was built by a giant named "Bulatha". You will be amazed to see the endless 1,440 acres of water beneath the beautiful blue sky. It provides an amazing view as the birds float on the surface of the water, drowning. Spending hours in this serene environment will bring you a lot of relaxation both mentally and physically.
From an architectural point of view, this is a very special place and Lake Sorabora feeds 3,000 acres of farmland with water. It was built using the most efficient irrigation technology still in operation today. Which was made out of natural rock.
