Blue Beach Island is a small island in the Nilwella area between Dickwella and Tangalle in the Matara District of the Southern Province. This is private land. It is a beautiful island surrounded by the Blue Sea. A small layer of sand connecting the island and the land. You can travel to the island through this. At certain times of the year, this layer of sand is covered by sea waves.

This is a very popular place for camping and the owner of this land has given you the opportunity to do so. You have to pay for it and follow his advice.

The Blue Beach Island Underwater Museum is another amazing creation you can visit. This was created by the Sri Lanka Navy and opened to the public. Designed for those who are able to swim. The main purpose of this is to breed beautiful fish and create new coral reefs.

Blue Beach Island Underwater Museum is the second Underwater Museum built in Sri Lanka. The first one was created on the beach in Galle and you can watch it too. A third is under construction in Trincomalee.
