Description

Visitors to Kalpitiya beach have to travel about 35km from Puttalam. It is about a 3 hour drive from Katunayake Airport. According to the Mahavamsa, the Kalpitiya beach is located near the landing place of Prince Vijaya. Kalpitiya beach is famous among Sri Lankans as a beautiful sea where dolphins can be seen. There are a large number of hotels near this beach which has become a major tourist attraction.
