Located close to the Pasikudah Bay in the Batticaloa District, the Kalkudah Beach is a soft, lush white sandy beach. Covered by a large reef, the waves are so calm and have a shallow clear sea that it is possible to swim and walk hundreds of yards towards the sea. Due to its popularity as a tourist destination, Kalkudah is home to a number of luxury resorts along the coast.

The Kalkudah Beach coastline is about 2 km long and is protected by coastal reefs. This beach is an isolated beach where soft waves are frequently seen. Therefore, it is very suitable for bathing and surfing. May to September is the best time to visit Kalkudah Beach.
