Ella Rock

Ella Rock is more popular among foreigners than natives. Ella Rock is located about 8 km from the center of the Ella town, above the village of Ella. Ella Rock is very popular among the climbers and it is a mountain slope located at an altitude of 1,041 m (3,415 ft).

The area is slightly humid and has a moderate temperature. In the morning the sunshine is fine and in the afternoon it is raining.

As you climb Ella Rock, you can see the greenery scenes of these areas and the beauty of the surrounding hills.

Normally Ella Rock's journey takes half a day. The Ella Rock Walk begins from the Ella railway station. When you travel from the Ella railway station to the Kithalella railway station along the railway road, there are two more amazing sights you can see on the way. One is the Kithalella waterfall. From the railway road, you can see this scenery. This will be a great scene to avoid your tiredness. Next, you will see the Black bridge. It is also a nice scenery. Don't forget to stop there and take some memorable photos with you.

When you passed and went little far from Black bridge you will reach Ella railway station. If you want you can travel by train from Ella to Kithal Ella. But most of the visitors start their Ella rock journey from Ella railway station.

About 10 minutes after passing the Kithalella railway station, you will come across a small Buddha statue with a bo tree. There is a road to turn left. Avoid it and move on. Then you will meet a narrow road to turn left again with a small bench. Avoid it too and keep going.

Then take the way to the left, where the board is marked as the road to the small Ella Rock. From there select the left lane and proceed. Pass the foot bridge over the river. Then you will meet two paths to go. From there choose the left path and keep going.

On the way, walk a short distance through a tea garden. As soon as the tea garden end, you will find a long grassy area. Keep moving forward. From some places the route is marked and continue with them.

The journey is a bit difficult but once you get to the top of the Ella Rock you will get rid all the tired instantly. It takes you to a different world. Explore that feeling. Need to go to Ella Rock atleast one time in your life.

When you are getting out of tired at the top of Ella Rock, the thick mist will flow at the same time around 3 or 4 in the evening will bring a strange beauty. Don't forget to experience that feeling.

Sometimes it will fall rain with the misty at the same time. It also brings you a weird experience when you travel Ella Rock. Once you've stay as much as you like, head back down the same path. It will be an easy task for you.

At the top of Ella Rock you can clearly see the Little Adam's Peak . Climbing Little Adam's Peak are easier to climb than the Ella Rock. It takes less time.

However, if you wear waterproof clothing, suitable shoes for climb mountains, you will find the Ella Rock ride more easier.

Do not forget to take appropriate needs with you to protect yourself from the "leeches" and insects in this area as there will be more of them in the rainy season.
