Gerandigini Ella

This waterfall is not unfamiliar to anyone traveling from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya but it is a beautiful waterfall that is not accessible to many people. This stream, which feeds the Ramboda Perattasi Estate, forms a 100 m (308 ft) high waterfall at the bottom of a high hill and joins the Poona Oya which flows from Ramboda and eventually feeds the Kotmale Reservoir.

Ranked 18th in height, the best place to experience the beauty of the place is the rocky outcrop at the top of the hill where the waterfall cascades down. Kotmale Reservoir, Monaragala Hill (Peacock Hill) and a large area can be seen on the rock and Samanala Kanda can be seen from here on a clear day.

Route: From Pussellawa you can take the Chariot Path via Perattasi and reach the falls in the middle of the village on the way or through the estate in front of the toddy shop at Garadi Ella Junction on the Kandy-Nuwara Eliya road and walk along the footpath for about an hour.
