Arthur's Seat Kandy

Arthur's Seat Kandy is the highest point in the Kandy District in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This is the only place where you can see the beauty of Kandy from above. The beauty of Kandy city can be seen from above. Located on top of the Kandy Lake, the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy offers a spectacular view of the Kandy Lake. Kandy is a very popular place for photography. This place on Rajapihilla Mawatha is also known as Arthur's seat.

Arthur's Seat is located on the outskirts of Wales Park Road at an elevation of 1790 ft above sea level, facing the Temple of the Tooth on the north, Senani Rest on the south, Hillwood Girls' College on the east and Shalika Inn on the west. Located 200 meters on Rajapihilla Mawatha.

The site was identified during British rule. According to folklore, Arthur, a planter, had a bungalow there and used to climb on a stone seat under a tree in front of his bungalow to see the city of Kandy. The bungalow is now owned by a man named Obeysekera and the place used by Mr. Arthur is used by local and foreign tourists. It currently looks like a spectacle and has a platform and a symbolic chair made of stone that tourists can use to take photos from there.

Arthur’s Seat is worth a visit, whether at night or during the day as can be seen in the city of Kandy as one of the tourist attractions. There is also a spectacular view of Kandy Lake, Temple of the Tooth and Bogambara Lake Kandy.
